Pediatric Eye Exams (for 4+ years of age)

Annual eye exams are especially critical for children since their eyes can undergo significant changes as their muscles and tissue rapidly develop

Good eyesight is essential for a child to perform well both academically and during physical activities. If their eyes aren’t up to the task, a child may feel tired, have trouble concentrating, have problems in school or have difficulty playing their favorite games, which may affect their overall quality of life

Upon entering school, your child’s eyes should be screened for visual acuity and alignment. In this age group, nearsightedness is the most common refractive error. This is where objects at a distance appear blurry, which is often a symptom of a condition known as myopia. Learn more about myopia and our Myopia Management Program here.
