To Our Patients:

The health and safety of our community is our highest priority.  As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues
to spread, I want to share some of the actions Eyeworks of San Mateo is taking to help protect both you and our
employees.

As this situation continues to evolve, we will closely monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) and local health officials.  We will continue to rely on their recommendations and expertise to
inform our decisions.

As a result, we are:

-  Increasing the frequency and rigor of cleaning and sanitization throughout our office.

-  If you or your child is sick, please do not come in for an eye exam. Late cancellation due to illness is
always acceptable.

-  Please limit the number of people in the room during the eye exam

-  If you need more contact lenses and cannot come in, simply call our office, let us know your particular
situation so we can accommodate you.

-  Based on guidance we’ve received and actions taken, our office remains open. We are doing all we can
do to make sure you feel comfortable and safe.

All of us at Eyeworks understand this issue is a cause for concern to many.  Moving forward, we will make our
decisions with the health and well-being of our patients, employees and communities as our highest priority.

March 16, 2020 - 4:50PM
To Our Patients:

As of 2:40 PM today, we received word from our governing body, California Optometric Association,
recommending to "suspend non-essential or non-urgent optometry care for the next 14 days" in response to the
COVID-19 virus.

As such, if you have an appointment this upcoming week, on a case by case basis, we will be contacting you to
determine to keep or change your appointment depending on the reason for the appointment.  If it is a routine
exam, it will most likely be changed to a future date.

We will be contacting you as soon as our office reopens tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th.
But for the convenience of our patients, our office will be opened by 10AM tomorrow, Tuesday, so you may pick
up any contact lenses or glasses at our office.  Please do this as soon as possible. If you need more contact
lenses, let us know so we can make proper arrangements.

Our office will close by 6PM, Wednesday, March 18, at latest, and possibly sooner.  This is all in efforts to
"flattening the curve" in order to follow sound, scientific public health advise to help limit infections and slow the
spread of the virus.  As such, you may see our staff wearing masks but please do not be alarmed.

But I want to emphasize just because our office may be physically closed, the doctors will continue to be
available as needed for emergency care and services.  If needs be the doctor can meet you at our office.

For now, the plan is to reopen March 31st, 2020 but this may change. Stay tuned and I will post updates here as
things change.
If you have questions, concerns, please contact our office.

To Our Patients:

As many of you know, the most recent County Shelter-In-Place Order is in effect until May 3, 2020.
As such our first day of resuming business to normal operations will be May 5th, 2020.  Meanwhile some services
continue to be  available with reduced hours.  Please see below for details.
I apologize if these weeks ahead to cause any inconveniences but these next weeks are crucial in our attempt to
"blunt the curve."  But rest assured, we are here for you and anxious to resume normal operations as soon as
possible.

To Our Patients:

As of early May, Optometry has been deemed as an essential service for San Mateo County.  As such, our office
will be reopening for all services starting Tuesday, May 12th.  Some changes will be implemented for COVID.  All
services, including dispensing/adjustment/repair of glasses and contact lens pickup will be done by appointment
at this time to minimize your wait.  We have been training and  implementing new protocols to ensure safety for
all.  If you need assistance, feel free to call us the remainder of this week from 10AM to 4PM.  We will be closed
this Saturday, May 9th.  Again, we will be open starting next week, May 12th at 10AM, resuming normal business
hours.  Please call for appointments for all services so we can better assist you.

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to serving you once again.

September 7, 2020
To Our Patients:

End of year is coming up fast.  With COVID-19, our capacity to see patients will be more limited than past years.
To avoid scheduling disappointments at end of year, we are recommending patients to schedule their
appointment NOW instead of waiting.  Most plans allow for exams once a year so you may not have to wait 12
months since last exam.

We have restarted full services since May with new protocols in place for your safety.  We have optimized these
protocols but certain procedures still take more time than before. Our hope is that we can "spread the load"
between now and December, when we normally get a spike.  In this way, we can maintain consistent quality of
care for everyone.

If you have any questions on your insurance eligibility, just give us a call.

Thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to serving you.

December 14, 2020
To Our Patients:

As we approach year end, COVID numbers continue to rise. To reduce risk exposures, we ask when seeing
familes, that ideally they come into the office one member at a time. If appointment is for minor, an adult can
accompany but please no more than 2 people.

Also December has always been busy.  We have just a few appointment slots left for exams remaining until end
of year.  We will soon be starting a waitlist, trying our best to accommodate everyone's appointment requests,
while still keeping the number of people in the office at any given time at a safe level.
Alternatively, if you simply need to update your eyewear using your benefits, spectacle prescription is valid for 2
years so you may call our office for a "frame select" appointment without a new exam.  Please give our office a
call for more information or to schedule any appointments for picking up eyewear, frame selection, or exam.
We look forward to serving you into the New Year.
